Our annual events are not only a staple within the Club but within the entire community as well.
The Chief John P. Ganley Community Service Award is presented to an individual “who has exhibited concern, involvement, and leadership in the community of Salem while providing inspiration to others, through his or her dedication, integrity, and courage in the manner exemplified by Chief John P. Ganley during his life on earth.”
Our Annual Charity Auction is arguably the Club's largest fundraising initiative. Funds raised during the event help to finance the Club programs that serve more than 280 children daily and allow us to offer affordable memberships to more than 2,000 youth annually.
Established in 1947, Youth of the Year is BGCA’s premier recognition program for Club members, promoting service to Club, community and family, academic success, strong moral character, life goals, poise, and public speaking ability. Sponsored by Tuscan Brands, our program is a year-round tool for fostering young people’s character, personal growth, and leadership qualities.
The Annual Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem Golf Classic dedicated to the Memory of Bill Flynn is held at Windham Country Club in Windham, NH with proceeds benefiting the Club. This event is one of the longest-running tournaments in the Merrimack Valley.
The Annual Awards Celebration recognizes contributions made by members of the community. Awards are presented for outstanding service, dedication, and commitment on behalf of the Club.
