48th Annual Award Dinner

The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem’s 48th Annual Awards Dinner will be held on Thursday, February 5th at the Tuscan Kitchen Salem, NH. The Annual Award Dinner recognizes contributions made by members of the community. Awards will be presented for outstanding service, dedication and commitment on behalf of the Club. The evening culminates with the announcement of the Club’s Youth of the Year.

Being named the Youth of the Year is the highest honor a Boys & Girls Club member can receive. Established in 1947, Youth of the Year (YOY) is the premier recognition program for Club members, promoting service to the Club, community and family; academic success; strong moral character; life goals; and poise and public speaking ability. One individual is chosen as the Youth of the Year and will represent the Club at the state Youth of the Year competition.

Each of this year’s finalists will receive an Amazon card ($100 for finalists- $200 for winner) donated by Enterprise Bank. The winner receives a $1000 scholarship provided by Steve and Diane Hatem; a family yoga membership provided by Yoga Balance of Life; and an Amex card for $99 from the Ninety-Nine Restaurant. The 2015 youth finalists include Salem High Students Jodi Gosselin, Edward “Eddie” Graziano and Nicholas “Niko” Karantonis.

In addition to the Youth of the Year announcement, local businesses and individuals will be honored for their support and dedication:

  • The Ninety-Nine Restaurant in Salem will receive the Richard P. McCoy Service Award for outstanding service and commitment to the Club through their fundraising efforts;
  • Michael Clifton will be presented with the Man of the Year Award for his service and dedication to the Club as a board member;
  • Mary Frances Renner will be honored for her outstanding volunteer service to the Club with beautifying the grounds and decorating the Club for the holidays;
  • Kiwanis of Salem will be presented with the BE GREAT Award for their dedication to the Club and support of the Club mission.

The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with a social hour sponsored by Salem Co-operative Bank. Dinner will be served at 7:00 p.m. and will be followed by the award presentations. Tickets are $75 per person. Tables of 6, 8 & 10 are available. Reservations can be made by calling the Club at 898-7709, x16 or reservations.
